United Way of Saskatoon and Area officially launched the 2013 Community Campaign with the announcement of their goal – $6.5 million.
Nearly 350 United Way supporters participated in a Walking Parade through downtown Saskatoon. Participants waved signs announcing this year’s goal and United Way’s motto – Change starts here. A breakfast and program sponsored by UFCW Provincial Council followed. The program included greetings from the City and the unveiling of a new United Way website, social media platforms and a promotional video. The video told the important story of a local man directly impacted by United Way of Saskatoon and Area initiatives.
United Way of Saskatoon and Area believes that change starts with one person, one group, one business, one community. It starts when people come together in support of a common goal. By working together, we can improve lives and build up the community we live in.
Because it takes a whole community working together to change social conditions, United Way of Saskatoon and Area builds partnerships that mobilize communities, agencies, funders and other sectors to achieve shared goals. We strive to bring about genuine change by focusing our work and investments in three areas:
United Way brings people and resources together to build vibrant, caring communities. Support from the citizens of Saskatoon and Area means we can continue to create opportunities for a better life for everyone in our communities. It means we can achieve lasting, positive change. We invite everyone to consider how they can Give, Volunteer, Act during the Community Campaign, as we strive to reach our goal of $6.5 million.
Change starts here.
