Volunteer Saskatoon, a program of United Way of Saskatoon & Area, offers a range of services to support and enhance the spirit of volunteerism in Saskatoon. By supporting community collaboration and partnerships, and working with not-for-profit organizations, corporate volunteer programs and individual volunteers, Volunteer Saskatoon ultimately strengthens volunteerism in the community.
Through resources that include training and workshops especially geared to the not-for-profit community, a central resource library, Volunteer Saskatoon provides organizations with the tools to maximize their volunteer programs. In addition, Volunteer Saskatoon facilitates the recruitment of volunteers through both one-on-one assistance, given to prospective volunteers, and through a membership-based volunteer posting service.
Volunteer Saskatoon's award winning website had 30,000 hits last year. The website provides helpful information on volunteering for both not-for-profit agencies and volunteers, and it also assists volunteers to find volunteer opportunities in Saskatoon.
