Last night, United Way of Saskatoon and Area’s Dinner Date in honour of Shelley & Murray Brown was an “outstanding” success. For most of their adult lives, Shelley and Murray have been great supporters and contributors to our community and United Way. Including, Shelley serving on and chairing the United Way of Saskatoon and Area Board of Directors.
The theme of the evening focused on the Browns’ secret formula, combining the right amounts of family, career, hobbies, travel, and community involvement to achieve Outstanding Balance.
Held annually at TCU Place, Dinner Date is a major contributor to United Way’s Community Campaign. This year’s event, exclusively presented by Deloitte, raised more than $260,000 towards the campaign goal of $6.5 million.
United Way’s Dinner Date is an initiative to encourage community leaders to champion their support for our community, United Way, and the many Saskatoon agencies it engages. Dinner Date’s foundation is built on the contributions of many – from past honourees to new and returning sponsors, from committee members to returning and first-time attendees. Since its inception in 1996, the event has raised more than $2.0 million for our community.
