United Way of Saskatoon and Area’s (United Way) Governance and Nominations Committee, is inviting nominations of individuals for election to its Board of Directors for a three-year term to become effective at our June 2017 Annual General Meeting (AGM).
The Board is committed to ensuring it has the talent to provide strategic guidance to the organization, ensure necessary resources are in place to support this work and to provide effective oversight. Each year the key competencies required at the Board level to meet our objectives are reviewed. This year, candidates with demonstrated experience, skill set and track record in some or all of the following areas are required:
To be representative of our community, United Way will continue to strengthen its Board by seeking demographic, age, gender and cultural diversity.

The term of the Board appointment is three years and may be renewable for a second term. Typically, the Board meets monthly with and additional full day planning and development session once a year.
Board members also serve on committees.

The Governance and Nominating Committee members will conduct telephone interviews with selected nominees. Following interviews, the committee will notify successful candidates that they will be recommended to the Board for approval in May. Board appointments take effect at the AGM in June 2017.
