Each year, United Way recognizes an individual, couple or family for their outstanding leadership and commitment to our community by honouring them at United Way’s “Dinner Date”. Dinner Date is United Way of Saskatoon and Area’s premier fundraising event. With nearly $260,000 raised at 2012 Dinner Date, United Way was able to invest this money directly back into our community.
We are happy to announce this year’s Dinner Date honourees, Shelley & Murray Brown.
The Browns are dedicated to living a well-rounded life. Shelley has been named one of Canada’s Top 100 Most Powerful Women, yet she is devoted to her family. She and her husband, Murray, have worked tirelessly to keep all the parts of their life – family, careers, sports and travel – working in harmony. The Browns are also committed to community involvement. They are active volunteers and philanthropists, helping others to achieve their own successful bottom lines.

The strength of any community comes from its leadership. The leaders in Saskatoon’s business, labour, public, aboriginal, government and professional community have done a great deal to enhance our community’s social safety net. By contributing to the United Way of Saskatoon & Area, you are not only helping to change lives, you are also leading others by your demonstration of philanthropy and community spirit. This event is one more way we can help build a caring community together.
