Day of Caring

Day of Caring®: A special way for businesses, organizations and their employees to spend a day working directly with the agencies and programs that help people in Saskatoon. This is an opportunity for the people within your organization to come together as a group to make a real difference in your community.

Move beyond making your corporate donation or organizing an employee campaign and into a direct role as a community builder - simply by setting aside a day to be involved in something that's tangible.

That's what Day of Caring® is all about. It's about community building made real. It's an opportunity to see the programs and agencies your organization and your people support come to life. It's a special chance to interact with the staff and the volunteers who deliver services to your community.

The United Way of Saskatoon and Area organizes a large scale Day of Caring® in the spring, however, we are always willing to match your business with an agency in need.  If you are interested in a Day of Caring® with your workplace, please call the United Way office at 975-7700.

Loaned Representative

Each fall, a group of energetic and enthusiastic individuals join the United Way of Saskatoon and Area volunteers and staff for 15 weeks and work with us to impact the community. The Loaned Representative program gives those who participate the opportunity to discover untapped skills and work towards a common goal of building community, the United Way.

Leadership, teambuilding, mentoring, public speaking and communications skills are just some examples of skills that Loaned Representatives have the opportunity to utilize and strengthen. Each year these individuals are challenged, changed and energized! After the dust settles and goals are met, these renewed individuals return to their workplaces with new skills and a new perspective on the community in which they live.

How can I become a Loaned Representative?

If your workplace supports the Loaned Representative program, apply for the position (usually posted in the spring) so you can start in the fall.  If your workplace does not support the Loaned Representative program but you’d like to pass along the opportunity, call our office to get a copy of the Loaned Representative brochure (975-7700).
